Heaven’s Oils

On the subject of health, organic products do not only refer to food but to everything you apply on your body.

After removing processed meat, palm oil, white bread, and sodium from my diet last year, I stopped using the cortisone cream, clobetasol anti-inflammatory cream, and hydrating lotions that were prescribed by my dermatologist.  I cleared all of these out of my bathroom because they are useless.

Physiogel, Cetaphil, Atopiclair, name any anti eczema product and I’ll tell you point-blank that I’ve tried that brand already; unfortunately none of them has worked for me.

What worked for me are organic oils that were made from pure plant extractions.  These are Planet Noah’s Oasis Soothing Baby Oil and Itcho’s Oil from All Organics.  I am skeptical about trying new skin products because of my skin’s sensitivity.  Although I instantly liked what’s written on the label of Oasis, I didn’t want to wind up regretting buying it.

Cancer Treatment in the Pantry

It was out of curiosity that I stopped by this small herbal store, whose products have reportedly cured so many people suffering life-threatening illnesses.  I got one leaflet from the storekeeper and headed home wondering if what I’m about to read isn’t something that I already know.

The truth is, I’ve heard a lot of stories about that herbal store from my father who is an aficionado of alternative medicine.  According to Papa, the owner of the store has challenged contemporary doctors to a showdown; their prescription drugs vs his herbal drinks, which have cured kidney diseases, cervical cancer, diabetes, leukemia, ulcer, heart diseases, insomnia, and tonsillitis among others.

Nobody took the challenge.

Just to feed my curiosity, I went over the leaflet to find out more about the store’s products.  To my surprise, practically all the ingredients that they use can be found in everybody’s kitchen or garden such as bitter gourd or ampalaya, black beans, broccoli, carrots, celery, cucumber, ginger, radish, apples, mangoes, oregano, papaya, Philippine lemon or calamansi, pineapple, red beans, pandan, it’s a long list I’m running out of breath.

All of the aforementioned ingredients are used by the manufacturer in their rawest form to maintain the good bacteria, which is believed to be the only thing that our bodies need to keep all types of diseases at bay.

In addition, the manufacturer of the herbal drinks stressed that cleaning your body organs will restore its functionality and strengthen your immune system.

After reading the entire leaflet it occurred to me that so many people are spending tens if not hundreds of thousands for the treatment of recurring health disorders when the fact is, the cure is just in their pantry.

One has to simply choose carefully what to cook and eat in order to feel and look healthy.

Earthquake Series and Why?

News of an angry tsunami and earthquake hitting Japan on Friday shocked me.   I was on the elevator when I heard two women talking about it.  Aside from the three of us, there was also one of the building securities who interrupted in their conversation to tell them not to run and just stay in their places when there is an earthquake.

The conversation of the women still lingered in my head even after I have left the building premises, and was in transit already.  It just scares me, the thought of an earthquake attack, as it’s barely a month since the earthquake in New Zealand, and now it’s Japan’s turn.

While on the road, I received a phone call from Mama and though I did not understand what she said because of the weak signal, her voice told me it was something serious.  Upon arriving home, I sent a text message to her to ask what the call was about.  So she did call once again and told me to stock the pantry with canned goods because we’ll never know what could happen, like we might lose electricity or a  storm might be in the offing. I  know Mama, she’s just scared I would panic if she mentions earthquake that  is why she didn’t say a word about it.  So, I went  ahead  and brought up the subject.

While earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and  tsunamis are life threatening, an article published in the New York Times has somehow made me understand why these forces of nature are made to be.  According to the article, these natural disasters are known as plate tectonics which happen naturally on Earth to improve it, as ours is the only habitable planet in the solar system.

It also says in  the  article that the huge waves of  a tsunami distribute helpful sediments from the bodies of river to the land and, thus, resulting in a more fertile soil that can yield healthy crops, mountains and jungles.  Earthquakes have been part and parcel of geology since time immemorial.

These  things are discussed in Science class but maybe I was not  paying attention to my teacher when it was taught to us.  Anyhow relearning these facts is really advantageous, and this time I ought to keep them in my head.

Guess if Earth was a woman, an earthquake would be her rejuvenating cream.

What should we do then?  Love Her and preserve our natural resources.

Technology can evolve but it can never be God.
